iphone 6_2There are some parts of the world where customers who want an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus will be able to buy it unlocked and off-contract. In fact in some parts of the world, this is actually a pretty common practice. Over in the US, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are being sold on contract, but the good news for those who’d rather not be tied to any particular carrier, Apple will begin selling the unlocked models starting tomorrow.

This is not official yet as 9to5Mac is reporting based on their sources, but given their track record and the fact that Apple usually releases unlocked versions after a while, we have no reason to think that it might not be true, but either way we suggest you take it with a grain of salt for now, but do check back with us tomorrow for the confirmation.

RIght now customers are able to purchase the handset unlocked on T-Mobile, but basically the unlocked version that they are planning on selling tomorrow means that users will be able to use their phone anywhere in the world on any carrier as long as they bring along their SIM card, which might come in handy for users who travel frequently and don’t want to be held hostage by roaming fees.

Pricing will remain the same as unsubsidized models mean that the iPhone 6 will be sold at $649/749/$849 for the 16/64/128GB models, and $749/$849/$949 for the iPhone 6 Plus’ 16/64/128GB models.
