leagueoflegends-toxic-banThere seems to be a rise in MOBAs created for mobile devices in mind, such as Vainglory which was released on iOS and will be released for Android in the near future as well, which begs the question will PC versions of MOBAs turn to mobile as well to ensure their dominance, or will they let mobile versions of MOBAs run rampant?

While we’re not sure what the plans Valve has for DotA 2, Blizzard for Heroes of the Storm, or S2 Games for Heroes of Newerth, what we do know is that Riot Games has no plans to bring League of Legends onto other platforms. The game currently exists on both the PC and Mac and it seems that that is where the game will remain, at least for now according to the developers who confirmed this to the folks at GameSpot.

Yesterday Microsoft and Tencent announced that they would be bringing League of Legends to the Windows 10 Store which sparked some speculation that maybe the game might arrive on other platforms, but that was shot down by Riot Games who has since released an official statement on the matter.

According to the developer, “Today’s announcement mentioning League of Legends has generated a lot of speculation in the LoL player community. We’d like to clarify that our focus is on making sure League plays great on Mac and PC. No plans for console, mobile or other platforms at this time.”
