Nikon-1-J4-mirrorless-cameraWhile megapixels are definitely not everything, users who wish to be able to zoom in and crop their photos without losing too much detail will no doubt welcome higher megapixels. While Nikon isn’t exactly the front-runner when it comes to mirrorless systems, the rumors are suggesting that with the Nikon 1 J5, Nikon will be giving it a megapixel upgrade.

The Nikon 1 J4 was announced last year and the camera came with an 18MP sensor. However according to the latest rumors, the Nikon 1 J5 is said to come with a 20.8MP sensor. It isn’t a very huge jump but like we said, those shopping about for a high megapixel camera might be interested in checking it out.

The rumors are also claiming that the camera will feature NFC connectivity which presumably will allow it to pair with smartphones, tablets, or other devices to send and share photos/videos wirelessly. This follows a rumor we heard last month which hinted that another one of the Nikon 1 J5’s features would be the ability to record video in 4K resolution.

Take it with a grain of salt for now but the Nikon 1 J5 is rumored for an announcement in the next few weeks, so if you’re in the market for a new mirrorless camera, do check back with us then for the details.
