In order to celebrate the NBA Playoffs it will be possible for Xbox One owners to play NBA 2K15 for free this weekend. However there is one caveat. This promotion is only being offered to Xbox Live Gold members. If you’re not an Xbox Live Gold member you can’t play this title for free this weekend, so either you buy the title, or you get the membership just to try it out for free in a couple of days.

NBA 2K15 is going to go free for Xbox Live Gold members starting 12:00 pm PDT April 24th and will be available through 12:01 AM PDT Monday, April 27th.

Members will be able to play the “ultimate basketball simulation experience” which features star players such as NBA MVP Kevin Durant, in all its glory for absolutely no charge at all.

Gamers need not worry about their game progress. After the free run ends they will be given the option to purchase the game online from the Xbox Store. Or they can get a physical disc from a retailer and pick up playing where they left off.

They will also get to keep their Gamerscore and achievements earned during the free weekend. Those who decide to purchase the title during the free weekend will get a special discount on the NBA 2K15 Bundle which includes 15,000 VC for 40 percent all, while all NBA 2K15 virtual currency will be available for 33 percent off during the entire week.
