galaxy-s5-sportI don’t know about you, but it does seem to me as though the folks over at Samsung are very serious about delivering the most recent operating system version to their respective handsets, especially the previous generation models. As Samsung’s Lollipop update train continues to chug forward, it looks as though the proverbial station where this carriage has stopped at would be the Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport that hails from Sprint.

This particular model of the Galaxy S5 Sport remains exclusive to Sprint, and as you can tell by its name alone, this is not any ordinary Galaxy S5, as there is a hint of ruggedness to it all, except that it would not be as tough as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active. Still, this does not mean that it is a slouch in terms of durability and performance, and it is also nice to see the Galaxy S5 Sport play catch up to both the Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy S5 Active in terms of the Android Lollipop update.

The rollout for Sprint’s handset is all set to happen, assuming it has not already gone through the motions already. Do be patient though if you have not yet received it, since these things might take several days in order to be pushed to all users. Expect to see the software version get bumped to G860PVPU1BOC5 after applying the update. [Press Release]
