17026765058_5a87ac4b88_oIf you’ve played Thatgamecompany’s Journey, which is an indie game exclusive to PlayStation devices, then chances are you’ve heard its soundtrack. The soundtrack is composed by Austin Wintory and was apparently good enough to be nominated for a Grammy. Now the good news is that if you’re a collector of vinyl, you will be pleased to learn that Sony will be reproducing the soundtrack on vinyl.

Yup, you read that right, if you have a turntable at home with a vinyl collection, you will soon be able to add this game’s soundtrack to that list. The vinyl has been specially designed and will feature artwork on each side of the disc. It will be priced at $35 and is expected to be released this June, but for those who are after a limited edition print of the album’s artwork, it is priced at $60 and will be available in June.

Granted this is a tad expensive for a game that is relatively short. However Journey is probably one of the more unique indie games released so far. For those unfamiliar with the title, basically you get to explore the entire world its developers have created. You will be able to play with other players although there is no chatting, so chances of a troll or spammer ruining it for you is next to impossible.

In fact Sony has recently announced that they will be bringing the game onto their PlayStation 4 console where it will be updated with a 1080p Full HD resolution and given the 60fps treatment. In the meantime for those wondering what the fuss is all about with regards to the soundtrack, take a listen for yourself in the video below.
