nexus-9-review-7

One of the biggest selling points that Google highlights for its Nexus devices is that these smartphones and tablets are always the first in line when the company releases a major software update. Android 5.1 has already been rolled out to other Nexus devices but the Nexus 9 has not received it yet, which certainly makes owners of this tablet very anxious. Now though there’s word from the company that Android 5.1 for Nexus 9 is going to be released later today.

It goes without saying that Nexus 9 owners would not have liked to see other OEMs roll out Android 5.1 for their devices even before they got it, and since Google had already released it for other Nexus branded smartphones and tablets, it made no sense why the update was being delayed for the Nexus 9.

Google hopes that they’ll forget about all that because the official word about the release has now come in. The company has confirmed through the official Nexus Twitter account that starting today Android 5.1 for Nexus 9 will be released.

The tweet didn’t confirm whether this tablet is going to receive the most recent Android 5.1.1 build or whether it’ll only get the Android 5.1 update, it’s too soon to say at this point in time, only that Nexus 9 owners will be thrilled that they’re finally getting this update.
