There are quite a few OEMs that have committed to supporting Android TV and Sharp happens to be one of them. The first 4K televisions from Sharp that are powered by Google’s platform are now available for purchase. It’s a range of five televisions sets that cover sizes from 60 inches all the way up to 80 inches. Sharp says that these TVs are now “shipping into the marketplace” which means you’ll be able to find them at retailers in the very near future.

Sony was among the very first manufacturers that put out Android TV powered sets earlier this year. Philips is going to released Android TV powered sets as well but they might arrive at some point later this year.

Prices of Sharp’s latest range of 4K TVs start at $2,099 and go up to $6,299. The price tags obviously vary as per the size of the TV which make up Sharp’s UE 30 lineup that includes 60 inch, 70 inch and 80 inch models.

There’s also the UH30 lineup which includes the 70 inch and 80 inch TVs, these two models are said to offer more vibrant colors that the other models.

Android TV is yet another attempt on Google’s part to take over your living room, the new platform is already baked into smart TVs, while set-top boxes running Android TV are gradually coming into the market as well.
