Yesterday during E3 2015, Square Enix and IO Interactive announced the latest game that will be part of the Hitman franchise. Simply dubbed HITMAN, this is an upcoming Hitman game that will be going back to the roots of the Hitman franchise, making it all about assassinations and how creative one can get with it.

Now we know that not many gamers were particularly enamored by Hitman: Absolution so hopefully HITMAN will be able to redeem the franchise. Thanks to the recently released gameplay trailer, we have to admit that the game certainly looks very promising. However trailers can be deceiving as they are usually edited to show the best parts, but here’s hoping that it will be able to live up to it!

According to IO Interactive, “This is our central promise: a pure assassin fantasy. So we liked the simplicity and the power of calling this game HITMAN. We want him to be powerful and embody the fantasy completely, and he will remain a constant throughout everything we do with the games going forward.”

It also seems that the developers are planning to keep the game constantly up to date and also plan on introducing exclusive hits, where once the target is killed for a particular mission, they stay dead. “Imagine a target appearing for every player in the world, for a limited time only… let’s say 48 hours. Where your one shot counts. And when that target is gone, it is gone forever.”

The game has been pegged for a release on the 8th of December where it will arrive on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the PC.
