apple musicApple Music was launched yesterday and it is basically Apple’s take on the music streaming service and will be designed to compete against the likes of Spotify, Pandora, Rdio, and more. However if you were hoping to be able to listen to Apple Music through internet connected speaker systems from Sonos, you’d be out of luck.

Speaking to Variety, a Sonos spokesperson was quoted as saying, “Sonos will not have Apple Music on it at launch but we fully expect to support them when they’re ready to focus on the home listening experience. Right now they’re fully focused on mobile.” However as the statement notes, this will only not be available at launch.

This means that further down the line, Sonos should be able to support Apple Music if and when  Apple decides it’s ready. In the meantime Sonos will continue to support Beats Music until the service ends, so in the meantime we suppose if you’re already a subscriber this should not be an issue for you.

That being said while you won’t be able to utilize Sonos’ internet connected speakers that way, you will still be able to stream music to AirPlay-certified speakers so that’s another way you can enjoy Apple Music through your speakers wirelessly. So, any Sonos users a bit disappointed by this piece of news?
