OnePlus is a relatively new company which also means that they have the luxury to try out various marketing and sales strategies. One of those strategies is an invite system in which only customers who have received an invite are allowed to purchase their phones. This helps the company gauge interest and manage their inventory.
Now the good news for those of you who have signed up and reserved an invite for the OnePlus 2, you will be pleased to learn that according to a recent tweet by the company, the invites to purchase the handsets have already begun rolling out to the masses. However we should point out that last we checked, the reservations were over 3.6 million strong.
This represents a huge leap from the 2 million we saw earlier. This means that if you did not register your interest early, chances are you could be in for a wait, so if you have yet to receive your invite in the mail, fret not as we’re sure that eventually the company will get to you, although it is unclear as to how long you’ll have to wait to get your phone.
That being said, it might not be as long as you think. While 3.6 million people have registered their interest, it is possible that not all 3.6 million are guaranteed customers. Some might have had a change of heart along the way, or maybe some are waiting for more comprehensive reviews before deciding to take the plunge.
