xbox-one-dashboard-redesigned

Microsoft gave us our first look yet at the redesigned dashboard for Xbox One back at E3 2015 and today the company has announced when the new dashboard will be released for consoles. The new dashboard is powered by Windows 10 and brings many improvements that focus on performance and speed as well as a new design that’s much more simpler than before.

Among the new features included in this update is a new Community section which lets users easily discover what their friends and others have been up to on Xbox. This section brings an upgraded Trending on Xbox Live area and Activity Feed which is aimed at making it easier to discover top content within the Xbox Live community.

Another major feature included in this redesigned dashboard is integration with Cortana. Users can give it commands like “Hey Cortana, start a party and invite John” which will invite a friend into a voice call without the user having to manually do anything. The Kinect sensor is required to use voice controls for Cortana.

Microsoft is also updating the Store to make it easier and faster to find the games everybody is talking about, the Store will be sorted into four new areas – Games, Movies and TV, Apps and Music.

The company plans on launching this redesigned Xbox One dashboard experience for users in November this year.
