Microsoft-Lumia-640-XL-06

Microsoft has already confirmed that it’s going to conduct an event next month where it’s expected to unveil new devices such as the Surface Pro 4 tablet, new Lumia flagship handsets as well as the new Microsoft Band. So far there’s nothing to suggest that a mid-range or Lumia handset might be part of the lineup as well but there are whispers about a new Lumia device in the pipeline over at Redmond. Many expect that it will be introduced as the Lumia 550.

A listing for Lumia 550 has already been spotted at one of Microsoft’s distribution partners in Europe, early information suggests that it’s powered by Windows 10 Mobile.

Now additional details have emerged about the Lumia 550, it’s said to have a 4.7 inch 1,280×720 pixel AMOLED display with a 1.1Ghz Snapdragon 210 quadcore processor under the hood. 8GB onboard storage with microSD support, 4G LTE support, on-screen Back, Start and Search buttons are also claimed to be on the device.

Some important details are still missing, such as the numbers for the front and rear cameras as well as the amount of RAM this handset has. It can’t be said for sure right now when Lumia 550 is going to be released but when it does arrive it’s expected to replace the Lumia 640.
