t-mobile logo 2We know that Google is all busy with their announcement of the spanking new Android 6.0 Marshmallow mobile operating system today, but this does not mean that other devices need to reside in the shadows, right? T-Mobile has also updated a couple of their devices – although this will bring only half a smile to the faces of the owners of said devices. Why do I say so? Well, it seems that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) and Galaxy Tab 4 will only receive Android 5.0.2 Lollipop after being stuck on Android 4.4 KitKat on T-Mobile for the longest time.

Ah well, this is where the saying of “better late than never” comes in, right? While newer versions of Lollipop have been hanging around for quite some time, it still boggles the mind as to why there is no update to those latest versions, but rather, pushing out the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update which was first compiled in December last year.

Anyway, if you were to install T-Mobile’s update for the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014), it will bump up the firmware to P607TUVUBOI2, while the Galaxy Tab 4 will see its firmware be known as T337TUVU1COH5. Do remember always, if you are going to perform an update, make a backup of all your data beforehand.
