Apple took its time to announce an entirely new Apple TV set-top box, the company’s fans had been waiting for years and last month Apple followed through by unveiling its new set-top box. It’s more powerful than any of its predecessors and comes with an entirely new look and feel that extends to the exterior design as well as the software that it runs. If you’ve been itching to get your hands on one today is the day you can pre-order new Apple TV.

The new Apple TV focuses quite a bit on applications, “We believe the future of television is apps,” Apple CEO Tim Cook proclaimed onstage when he unveiled the product, third-party app developers have already started submitting their creations to Apple and the apps will be readily available when the company starts shipping this product.

Customers will receive a redesigned remote control with the product which comes with a trackpad and motion-control to allow for gaming on the new Apple TV. Siri is integrated deep into the OS so users can easily ask for recommendations and suggestions, it even taps into universal search which makes searching for new content a breeze.

Apple’s new set-top box costs $149 for the 32GB version and $199 for the 64GB one, it’s expected that the company will start shipping orders as soon as the end of this week.
