star wars battlefront robotStar Wars Battlefront has already been released in the US and it is less than a week old. However it seems that its publisher EA has thought long and hard about its future, and it seems that gamers can look forward to multiple sequels. This was confirmed during the UBS Global Technology Conference in San Francisco by EA’s CFO Blake Jorgensen.

According to Jorgensen, EA and Disney (who owns the Star Wars franchise) have a 10-year licensing deal and it seems that EA wants to milk it to its fullest extent. So much so that the company has multiple sequels for the game planned. However it won’t be limited to Battlefront’s style and EA will explore other genres as well.

They are also looking at possibly launching multiple platforms too, such as mobile instead of more traditional PC and console releases. According to Jorgensen, “The beauty of theStar Wars franchise is it’s almost unlimited in what you can do with it. We know Disney has done a great job with other franchises and we believe they’ll do the same with Star Warsover time in delivering new worlds, new characters, new vehicles, all the things that make great video games.”

Disney themselves have also expressed an interest in creating as many Star Wars movies as possible, and on an annual release too if that’s what the demand is, but what do you guys think? Are you looking forward to more Battlefront sequels in the future?
