Electronic Arts has confirmed that its upcoming title EA Sports UFC 2 is going to have Ronda Rousey as the global cover athlete. Rousey obviously needs no introduction as she was the only UFC women’s bantamweight champion since December 2012, a title that she lost today in a championship fight against Holly Holm. That said, she happens to be the top ranked female MMA fighter in the world and has even made several appearances in Hollywood movies and TV.

A trailer has been released that announces Rousey as the EA Sports UFC 2 global coverage athlete, in it she says “As a gamer myself, and growing up a little overly obsessed with video games, it’s pretty surreal to be on the cover of a game myself,” adding that “To have a woman on the cover of a UFC game, it shows a lot of progress. I’m really happy to be involved with it.”

The full feature set for EA Sports UFC 2 has also been unveiled by EA Sports, there are four new gameplay elements which include a substantially improved physics engine, Knockout Physics System and better control in grappling situations as well as new submission options which include standing and chained submissions.

Players will get five modes to choose from, there’s an expanded career mode that includes “career-defining moments” and training camps. For the first time this title also allows creation of female fighters.

EA Sports UFC 2 is going to be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Spring 2016.
