nexus_6p_goldWhen the Nexus 6P was officially announced by Google for the US market, it was revealed that there were three color options that customers could choose from which includes an aluminum finish, graphite, and frost. However recently in Japan it was revealed that the country would be getting an exclusive gold Nexus 6P.

Now if you love the idea of a gold Nexus 6P, the folks at 9to5Google have learnt from sources that Google could be bringing that color option stateside in the near future. This means that the exclusivity for Japan with local carrier SoftBank might have been a timed one and given that it was recently announced, we reckon the exclusivity might run for a month or more, but we’re just speculating here since no dates have been given regarding its stateside availability.

9to5Google also speculates that perhaps the gold version of the phone could be announced during Huawei’s announcement at CES 2016, which is also expected to include details about the company bringing its Honor sub-brand to the US. In any case the gold option of the Nexus 6P is merely a finish as opposed to actual gold, but it does look good and if you haven’t gotten your Nexus 6P yet, we suppose holding out for the gold version isn’t a bad idea.
