Like many kids I too liked to watch cartoons when I was a kid, and Samurai Jack used to be one of my favorites. It has been more than ten years since a fresh episode of the show hit airwaves and that’s going to change in the future. Adult Swim has confirmed that Samurai Jack is coming back to Cartoon Network in 2016.

The story follows Jack, a samurai, who is sent way into the future by Aku, an evil demon. He then embarks on a quest to find Aku and defeat the evil demon so as to go back to his old life.

Samurai Jack has remained a cult favorite over the years, even though only four seasons were ever released, bringing a total of 52 episodes which really seems a tad inadequate if you were one of the kids who loved to watch this show. Our favorite Samurai’s adventures abruptly ended in 2004 when the show was cancelled.

Genndy Tartakovsky, the animator who has sensational hits like Dexter’s Laboratory and the animated Star Wars: Clone Wars microseries under is belt, has been brought back in to produce a new season of Samurai Jack that’s going to air next year on Cartoon Network.

An expected time frame has not yet been provided for when the new season of Samurai Jack might air on Cartoon Network in the coming year.
