Romain-Jerome-Super-Mario-Bros-watchWhen it comes to watches, really good mechanical timepieces will set you back a small fortune, but most of the time this can be justified as the majority of these timepieces are considered to be investments that could last generations, as long as they are properly maintained.

We have also seen novelty watches that are made around movies, games, TV shows, cartoons, and etc., and these watches usually cost a couple of bucks and not more. However it seems that to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros. game, Nintendo has teamed up with luxury watchmaker Romain Jerome to create a very special timepiece.

This is a Super Mario watch and it is a limited edition device. There will only be 85 pieces that will be made and each will cost a little under $19,000 ($18,950 to be exact) to own, so safe to say you’ve either got to be a huge (and loaded) fan to get your hands on it, or if you are a watch collector who believes that this could be worth an even greater fortune some day.

The watch will feature icons from the game, like Mario himself, a mushroom, and some background scenery. They are also made from enamel and are all hand painted, so safe to say that you can expect from good quality craftsmanship.
