It seems that the 4-inch iPhone rumors are starting to ramp up. It was only recently that an alleged photo surfaced, and in case you’re wondering how real the device is, a report from Nikkei (via G for Games) has revealed that the phone is already in production. They also go on to add that the phone will be aimed at emerging markets.
The latter piece of information is rather interesting. The same was thought when Apple launched the iPhone 5c, which many had assumed was for emerging markets, although safe to say that its price was anything but affordable, especially when you compared it to other brands like Samsung.
Also based on the alleged specs of the iPhone 5se, which is supposed to be the 4-inch iPhone variant, it sounds like a pretty powerful device and will most probably not come cheap, so we’re not sure how that will benefit emerging markets and customers. However Apple did note that they will be seeing a drop in iPhone sales, so maybe trying to appeal to emerging markets could be one way to revitalize sales.
In any case it’s probably best taken with a grain of salt for now. We had heard the rumors suggesting that the iPhone 5se could be announced in the first half of 2016, possibly during their March event, so check back with us in the coming weeks/months for more updates.
