Microsoft has been slowly adding titles to the list of games that are Xbox One backwards compatible, which for those unfamiliar means that games from the Xbox 360 will be playable on Microsoft’s latest console. While it has not been officially announced, it seems that Left 4 Dead 2 is a title that has been recently added.

According to a post on Reddit, it has been discovered that gamers will be able to download a copy of Left 4 Dead 2 onto their Xbox One console and get it up and running, assuming that they did own the title before. The game was originally released back in 2009 where it was playable on the computer and the Xbox 360.

Now the process to get the game on your console is pretty straightforward. Like we said it’s not officially announced yet so the more traditional method of getting it isn’t available yet. So instead what gamers have to do is according to ShackNews:

Step 1: On your Xbox One, search for the gamertag: h2o acidic (That’s an o and not a Zero)
Step 2: Go into that profile and look at following/followers click by game if needed.
Step 3: Find Left 4 Dead 2 and select and then click go to store. From there you’ll see a box “loading”, which normally it’ll be the area it says bundle only. After it loads you’ll see INSTALL.
Step 4: Download/Install.

We don’t have an Xbox One so we can’t confirm if that method works, but based on comments on Reddit and the video above, it seems to work for most gamers, so give it a try. If it doesn’t work, keep trying or maybe wait for a more official method to become available.
