A few days ago, it was reported that Snapchat could soon be gaining new features in the form of a revamped video call function and voice notes. Now we know that it might be hard to imagine what those features might look like, but thanks to the folks at Snapprefs (via 9to5Google), they have managed to those features to work and have since shared screenshots of their discovery.

As you can see in the screenshots above, the UI has changed for the regular chat feature, and we are also looking at features like stickers in messages as well. Dubbed ChatV2, Snapprefs writes, “While experimenting with it, we noticed how the chat-presence alert has been changed from showing a blue botton to showing a smiley face, which turns into a blue dot. Also, when someone is listening to you a blue text comes up saying that “XYZ is listening/watching”.”

They also point out that the stickers feature is only available on devices with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, at least based on their testing so far. They claim that when used with an older device like that of KitKat, it showed a blank screen in its place, although they can’t confirm if this is the same for Android Lollipop, which is the build after KitKat.

No word on when we can expect all these new Snapchat features to be released, but presumably they will be available in the next update, which is really anyone’s guess as to when that might be, but in the meantime it looks like the features are working just fine, so maybe we won’t have to wait too long to get our hands on it.
