iphone 6s cameraA rumor from last month suggested that the iPhone 7 Plus could come in a variant that sports a dual camera setup. However the rumor also claimed that this dual camera setup might only be limited to a higher-end iPhone 7 Plus, basically aimed towards users who might appreciate and be willing to pay for a higher-end iPhone as long as it could take better quality photographs.

Now according to a report from Chinese website MyDrivers (via MacRumors), it has been suggested that the device in question could be known as the iPhone Pro in a bid to distinguish itself from the rest of the iPhone 7 models that will be available, kind of like how the iPad Pro sets itself apart from the iPad mini and iPad Air lineup.

If you’re wondering why the iPhone Pro sounds familiar, it is because the other day a report from Forbes indicated that this could be Apple’s new naming scheme. However the report suggested that the name might be applied to the entire iPhone 7 lineup, but this report claims that it will only be applied to the dual camera iPhone 7 Plus model.

Of course you should take it with a grain of salt for now, but as more iPhone models hit the market, we expect that Apple will eventually want to start creating a new naming and branding scheme, so that it will start to look more refreshed and exciting, kind of like the rumored 4-inch iPhone SE which reportedly dropped the “5” from its moniker.
