league friendsAs much as you love League of Legends, taking a break every now and then is a good idea. However if you want to take a break but still remain connected to the game somehow, you’ll be pleased to learn that Riot Games has since created and launched a companion app for mobile devices for the game.

Dubbed League Friends, this is an app that lets you chat with your friends in the game while you’re on the go. So maybe they’re asking for some advice and you aren’t at your PC, you can go ahead and chat with them. The app will also deliver push notifications when you are invited to a game, so say you’re in your kitchen, living room, or garden, you won’t miss any incoming game invites.

While these are some of the more basic functions of the app, Riot has promised that they will eventually add more features to it as time goes on. “The app lets you see your friends list, add new pals, and chat one-on-one at launch, but expect it to add features over time, evolving as League of Legends does.”

Unfortunately for now the League Friends app is only available in the North America and Oceanic regions, but it should roll out to other regions in the coming weeks. It is available on both iOS and Android, so hit up the iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store for the free download.
