whatsapp videoIt seems like the folks over at WhatsApp have been pretty busy coming up with new and exciting features for the app. Last we heard, the app could be getting voicemail features, and that there could also be desktop apps designed for both Windows and Mac. However it looks like that’s not all WhatsApp could be working on.

According to a screenshot obtained by the folks at Phone Radar, it seems that WhatsApp could soon be getting a much-needed feature: video calling. So far WhatsApp has been a bit slow to adopt certain features which are more or less pretty common for messaging apps, like voice calling which apps such as Skype and Viber had ages ago.

However better late than never, right? The screenshots seem to indicate that this is a feature that the company could be working on and like we said, they are a bit late to the party especially with apps like LINE and Skype already offering video calls, but given that WhatsApp does appear to be the leading messenger app at the moment, we suppose they can afford to be a bit late to the party.

No word on how the video calling feature will work and whether or not it will work in a group setting or if it is just one-on-one. There is also no telling when this feature will be released, but presumably it will be in the next update, so we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for that.
