If you’re a professional photographer, chances are you’ve invested tens of thousands of dollars into your camera setup including the multiple camera bodies, various lenses for different situations, flash units, extra batteries, and so on. So obviously it would be rather devastating if your kit were to be stolen.

However the good news is that there is an Indiegogo campaign for an accessory called the Pinout that will help prevent that. Basically the Pinout is an accessory that photographers can clip to their camera bodies. It pairs with smartphones/smartwatches via Bluetooth which means that when out of range, it will alert the photographer, which also makes it handy if you don’t want to forget that you’ve left your camera behind.

To top it off, it seems that in addition to having anti-theft/anti-loss capabilities, the Pinout will also be able to give your camera wireless capabilities, which in turn will let users remotely trigger their camera’s shutter release for HDR photos, time-lapse, star trails, and more. It will also allow for geotagging of photos thanks to its built-in GPS.

Unfortunately the Pinout is only compatible with pretty much only Nikon cameras save for the Fujifilm S5 Pro, so for non-Nikon shooters, we guess you’re out of luck.
