Netflix has updated its iPad app with a new feature that’s going to appeal to users who would like to stream content from Netflix while doing other things on their tablet. The app has now received support for picture-in-picture multitasking which will enable users to continue watching their favorite TV show or movie while they sort through their email, read tweets, check Facebook, etc.

This latest update of Netflix for iPad takes advantage of the Picture-in-Picture multitasking support in iOS. Tapping into that feature it enables users to shrink videos down to a smaller window while they use another application simultaneously.

It makes perfect sense for Netflix to support this feature on the iPad. The large screen real estate will allow users to continue watching their content with ease while they get other stuff done. They no longer have to worry about having to switch apps and then wait for Netflix to start streaming again every time they switch back to it.

Netflix picture-in-picture support works with compatible iPads running iOS 9.3.2 and up. Compatible tablets include both sizes of the iPad Pro, iPad Air and iPad Air 2 as well as the iPad mini 2, 3, and 4. The update is live now and available for download from the App Store.
