nest camRecently thanks to an internal email that was made public, Nest’s new CEO Marwan Fawaz reassured employees that Nest wasn’t going to be stripped down and sold for parts, but it seems that’s not the entire picture. The version of the letter that was published apparently had redacted sections that we did not know about, at least until now.

According to Tech Insider, the full letter actually contained information about products that the company was working on. One of those products is an outdoor version of the Nest Cam that was launched last year. Given that the original Nest Cam was launched in June, we guess a successor being launched around this time would make sense as well.

For those unfamiliar, the Nest Cam is a camera connected to the web that lets users stream video from their home to their mobile devices, thus allowing them to keep an eye on their home’s security even when on holiday, and the outdoor version of the camera is expected to be more or less the same in features, except maybe more rugged to withstand the elements.

Other rumored products in the pipeline include new color options for the Nest thermostat. No word on when these new Nest products will be announced, but if an outdoor Nest Cam is something you wouldn’t mind having, check back with us later for the details.
