Last we heard, Titanfall 2 is expected to be released within 3 weeks of Battlefield 1 which is set for the 21st of October. Some had speculated it could be referring to the 1st of October release date rumor, but as it turns out that isn’t the case. According to EA’s recent announcement, Titanfall 2 will be released on the 28th of October, which we guess is still within 3 weeks of Battlefield 1.

The game will be playable across multiple platforms like the Xbox One, PS4, and the PC. Naturally there was no mention of whether it will be arriving on Sony/Microsoft’s next-gen consoles, but if it were, we also have to wonder how big of an upgrade in terms of resolution and framerates we could be looking at.

According to EA’s announcement, gamers will be able to expect 6 new Titans for multiplayer games, more weapons, customization, and a more “robust” progression system. There is also expected to be a technical test planned ahead of the release, which we guess is something like a beta of sorts, or maybe a stress test to ensure the servers are up to handling the influx of gamers upon its release.

Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn Entertainment says, “With the original Titanfall, we focused on nailing the gameplay and reinventing the way you move and fight in a first person shooter. With Titanfall 2, we’re building on that foundation by introducing a bespoke single player campaign backed by a deeper multiplayer experience that together will once again push the shooter genre forward.” In the meantime you can check out the single player and multiplayer trailers in the videos above.
