After being treated with leaked renderings and teasers on Facebook, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition has been officially announced. The device was teased on Facebook last week where it hinted that an announcement could be made on the 7th of July, which is today, and sure enough Samsung has delivered.

The official photos certainly match the ones that were leaked, but they also revealed some additional details, like how colorful the handset would actually be. The phone sports what appears to be a very deep blue/black finish, but it also has color accents of the Olympic rings. For example the ring around the camera is blue, with the volume rockers in green, the earpiece and home button in yellow, and the power button on the side in red.

All in all it makes for a pretty nifty looking handset. The phone will also come bundled with Samsung’s new Gear IconX wireless headphones, and the Rio 2016 app (which will also be available for everyone). It will also be limited in nature with Samsung selling only 2,016 units when it becomes available on the 18th of July.

It will be sold in markets such as Brazil, the US, China, Germany and Korea, so if limited edition/special edition handsets are your thing, this could be a phone worth checking out. Even if you aren’t a fan, the bundled Gear IconX earphones and the fact that it is the Galaxy S7 Edge will still make it a pretty compelling purchase.
