griffin apple watch 1When it comes to accessories for smartphones, tablets, and laptops, brands like Incipio, Incase, Griffin, Spigen, and etc. get thrown around a lot. However it looks like the accessories world just got a bit smaller because accessory maker Incipio has announced that they will be acquiring Griffin, another accessory maker.

To be more specific, it is Incipio’s parent company Incipio Group that will be acquiring Griffin, thus putting them under their umbrella which also plays host to a variety of other brands you might have heard of, such as Incase, Braven, Clamcase, and Tavik, and given Griffin’s popularity, no doubt this addition will help boost the company’s profile.

According to Andy Fathollahi, Founder and CEO of Incipio Group, “As part of Incipio Group, Griffin strengthens our product development and manufacturing capabilities, complements our existing product lines in rugged cases, power and connectivity, and allows our brands to reach a broader domestic and international audience through enhanced distribution in the business-to-business, enterprise and education verticals.”

Paul Griffin, Founder and CEO of Griffin Technology adds, “This is an exciting and pivotal moment for the Griffin brand. Partnering with Incipio Group provides Griffin with a strong support system and improved capabilities to continue developing accessories that people love and use every day.” It is unclear what the Incipio Group plans for Griffin, but assuming it is the case as the other brands under their group, we expect that it will be business as usual.
