Timelapse photography and videography are beautiful things to behold, since essentially what happens is that it sums up an entire day, or days, into a couple of seconds and/or minutes. However pulling off an interesting timelapse can be tricky, but that’s what the Astro Core device is aiming to do.

Basically the Astro Core can be thought of as a kind of mount for your camera where you can control it via an app. One of its unique features is that its app allows for very price timelapse programming, where you can set intervals to your liking, and you can even set the angles of your camera down to the degree. This means that you can get some pretty precise motions.

The best part, we reckon, is gesture programming. This means that with your smartphone, you can create a motion that the Astro Core will attempt to replicate. So if you wanted to create a timelapse in which the camera moves in a circular clockwise motion throughout the shoot, just move your phone around in that direction and the camera will follow suit, within reason of course.

It is also modular meaning that users can attach more than one Astro Core to each other, thus increasing its range of motions. It is an interesting concept although admittedly it is a bit niche since not everyone wants to create timelapse photos or videos, but if you do, hit up its Kickstarter page to pledge your support or to find out more details.
