spotify_commuteThere are many arguments to be made in favor of music streaming. One of them being that you can listen to any song, anytime you want. It also frees up storage, and you don’t have to worry about syncing between your devices. However if there is one major disadvantage of music streaming is how reliant it is on the internet.

A good example would be recently where Spotify seems to have suffered a temporary worldwide outage. According to various reports, the service seems to have gone down for users around the world on a Friday afternoon, which like we said, demonstrates one of the downsides of music streaming. This is versus storing songs on your phone where regardless of internet connectivity, you’ll still be able to enjoy your tunes.

Thankfully the outage does not appear to have lasted too long because at this time of posting, the service appears to be back up and running for all of Spotify’s users. It is unclear as to what might have been the problem in the first place, but given that online services do suffer from hiccups every now and then, it’s just something we’ll have to live with, although in all fairness, Spotify has been pretty stable for the most part so we can’t really hold this incident against them.
