no_mans_skyAs far as indie games are concerned, No Man’s Sky was one of the scene’s darlings ever since it was first announced. Unfortunately the release of the game has been less than stellar, and despite its lofty goals and promises, players seem to have completed the game in a pretty short amount of time.

That being said, the good news is that the game’s developers want to make it up to players by announcing a major update to the game called the Foundation Update. According to Hello Games, “This week Hello Games will be releasing an update to No Man’s Sky. We’re calling it The Foundation Update, because we have added the foundations of base building, and also because this is putting in place a foundation for things to come.”

As to why there has been radio silence from the developers as of late, they claim that they have chosen to focus on the development of the game, but reassure gamers that they are listening to all feedback. “The discussion around No Man’s Sky since release has been intense and dramatic. We have been quiet, but we are listening and focusing on improving the game that our team loves and feels so passionately about.”

No word on a release date for this Foundation Update, but if you still believe that No Man’s Sky can still up to its potential, then you’ll want to keep an eye out for the patch’s release.
