galaxy-s7-design_04For the past few years, Samsung has typically offered up two versions of its Galaxy S series of phones. One with a flat screen that is typical of most smartphones, and another with a curved edge display. However for the upcoming Galaxy S8, we have heard the rumors that there might not be a flat screen version.

These rumors have been recently “confirmed” in a post on Korea investment publication The Bell (via VentureBeat), it seems that the upcoming Galaxy S8 will not be offered in a flat screen version. Instead the report claims that while there will be two models, both models are expected to offered curved displays, with the main difference being in screen sizes.

This is in line with an earlier rumor which claims that the smaller of the two models is said to feature a 5.7-inch display, while the larger model will come with a whopping 6.2-inch display. Recently famed leakster Evan Blass also posted the two model numbers for the upcoming phone, which once again seems to corroborate claims of two handsets.

Samsung has promised us that we can look forward to a “slick” new design for the Galaxy S8, although we have to wonder with its large screen size, wouldn’t that just end up eating into its Note sales in the future?
