Virtual reality is cool because it essentially puts you into the environment itself, as opposed to looking at it through a display (we suppose technically it is still a display, but the immersion factor is what makes the difference). Now if you’ve ever wanted to be a pilot, then this piece of news regarding Ace Combat 7 will no doubt be music to your ears.

During the PlayStation Experience over the weekend, it was revealed that the upcoming game will have support for PlayStation VR, Sony’s take on the virtual reality scene. In the latest trailer that was released, it gives gamers a better look at the game, a game which was originally announced back in 2015 and is still in development.

According to the trailer’s description, “Feel the rush of superior air power! www.acecombat.com. Climb into the cockpit of one of the most advanced war planes ever created and experience the most intense Ace Combat experience ever created. Featuring photorealistic visuals, intense dog-fighting action, a multitude of authentic and futuristic aircraft to fly, a return to ‘Strangereal’, and even virtual reality!”

Unfortunately it seems that apart from this new nugget of information, a specific release date has yet to be set, but we do know that a release in 2017 is the current target.
