Over the years movie makers have tried their best to create characters that are memorable, but it’s safe to say that not many can match just how memorable Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia in Star War was, which is why it comes as rather sad news to learn that the actress has passed away at age 60.

Prior to this, Fisher had reportedly suffered from a heart attack on a flight from London to Los Angeles. However for a while it seemed that she would be fine as her mother, Debbie Reynolds, announced that Fisher was in stable condition via her Facebook page. Unfortunately it seems that her stable condition did not last.

We’re sure many of you guys are aware of Fisher and the roles she’s played, but in case you need a refresher, Fisher played the role of Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy. Her “bun” hairdo and her gold bikini outfit are probably the most recognizable looks in movie history. She even reprised her role as Leia in 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

In addition to being an actress, Fisher was also known as an author and a screenwriter and also a script doctor, and was secretly pretty well-known for fixing scripts that needed fixing. May she rest in peace.
