logitech-circleSome of you guys might recall that in 2015, Logitech introduced a home security camera in the form of the Circle. At the time of launch, the Circle was a pretty basic home security device where it could stream video to an accompanying smartphone app, and can learn your daily habits so that it will only alert you when it detects something out of the ordinary.

However Logitech has since given the device a bit of an upgrade. In an announcement by the company, Logitech has revealed that they are introducing several AI-based smart features to the camera. This includes Person Detection, Motion Zones, Custom Day Briefs, and Extended storage, all of which will be available to users who subscribe to the Circle Safe Premium plan.

According to Vincent Borel, director of new ventures at Logitech, “We’re committed to giving you a premier security camera experience that keeps improving after your original purchase. A prime example is the newly released Person Detection feature, a result of our proprietary artificial intelligence video engine which continuously analyzes and learns new motion triggers.”

The Premium plan is priced at $9.99 per camera every month, or $99.99 per camera every year. There will also be a new Circle Safe basic subscription that will cost $3.99 per camera per month, and this plan will offer up 14-days worth of video storage.
