With the Uncharted movie finding a new director in Shawn Levy, we’re sure some are wondering who might round up the rest of the cast? In the past there have been rumors that Mark Wahlberg was connected to the movie and could play the role of Nathan Drake, but it seems that is no longer the case.

In an exclusive interview with We Got This Covered, Wahlberg confirmed that he is no longer attached to the movie. Rumors of Wahlberg dropping out of the movie date back to 2015, but it’s nice to know that it has been confirmed, although it is a pity as there are quite a few people who think he would have pulled off the role perfectly. There have been other actors rumored such as Chris Hemsworth and Channing Tatum, but we can’t confirm those yet.

Unfortunately for fans of the franchise, you guys still have quite a bit of waiting to do. The movie’s director Levy recently stated that he hopes to finish filming by the end of 2017, which means that after editing and post-processing, we’re probably looking at a 2018 or maybe even 2019 release, so maybe you might not want to hold your breath just yet.

Prior to this, it was originally pushed to the summer of 2017, but like we said with the movie landing a new director, it means that things are more or less back to square one, so additional delays shouldn’t be too surprising.
