2016 might have started out well for Samsung, but unfortunately it seems that the company hasn’t had much luck following the Note 7’s explosion, and the subsequent reports of their other handsets exploding too. In fact it looks like Samsung could be ending the year with a bang, but not necessarily the good kind.

In a post on Reddit, a user by the name of ReturnThroughAether reported that his Galaxy S6 Edge had exploded on his night stand, which you can see for yourself in the photo above. He writes, “Woke up this morning (yesterday technically. 12/20) just in time to get ready for work and looked over to find my phone has exploded. Luckily I don’t keep it on my bed, as you can see it scorched my night stand.”

He also claims to have spoken to Samsung and his carrier but it is unclear as to what will be the result of it. “I’ve talked to Samsung and my carrier. The phone had no problems before, no overheating. I think I’m done with Samsung for a while, really gonna miss the photos I had from Africa in the fall. Dammit Samsung, I was still in your corner after the Note 7 stuff too.”

Thankfully apart from lost photos, a damage phone, and a scorched night stand, there were no injuries.
