If you have been using Android devices for a while or followed smartphone news, you’re probably familiar with the name “TouchWiz”, a name that Samsung has called its skinned version of Android. However that could soon change as Samsung could be planning on renaming the feature to something else.

According to Android Central, it has been discovered that in the beta for Android Nougat for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, Samsung has referred to the UI as the “Samsung Experience” instead of TouchWiz. This is the first time we are hearing about this so we’re not sure what to expect and whether or not the name will be sticking.

Interestingly enough as you can see in the screenshot to the right, Samsung has referred to it as the “SE 8”, which seems to signify that it is version 8 which is strange because like we said, this is the first we’re hearing about it. In any case we guess a renaming isn’t necessarily a bad thing and could signal a new direction for the company.

Either way we’ll have to wait and see if the name will stick upon the final release of the Nougat update, so do check back with us later for more details.
