bioshock iosBack in 2015, the folks at 2K Games pulled BioShock from the iTunes App Store. The reason behind is that there were some compatibility issues with iOS 8.4, which meant that rather than gamers downloading the game and running into bugs and problems, 2K decided it would be simpler to just pull it.

They refuted the rumors and speculation that they would be killing off the game for iOS. However that was back in 2015 and now that we’re in 2017, where is BioShock? Turns out it looks like the rumors were right on the money as the game has pretty much been killed. This is according to a recent support document found on 2K’s website.

It reads, “In June 2015, BioShock became incompatible with iOS, following Apple’s version 8.4 update. As a result, the game was removed from the App Store and is no longer supported. If your Apple device is running iOS 8.4 or newer, you may encounter gameplay issues with BioShock. Those who already own BioShock can continue playing it with iOS version 8.3 and earlier, but the game is not compatible with iOS 8.4 and later.”

We guess given that it has been about 2 years, many gamers have probably given up waiting for its release. Plus with so many new games available it’s probably easier just to find something else to play. Will 2K ever return BioShock to iOS devices? We guess that remains to be seen, but maybe you shouldn’t hold your breath.
