moto-micoWhile battery packs are a great way to ensure that you always have a bit of extra juice on you where you go, the only downside is that once they’re depleted you not only have to charge your phone, but you’ll also have to charge the battery pack as well. This means more cables and more time spent charging.

The good news for Moto Z owners is that it looks like a new Moto Mod could be in the works. A report from Tech Droider has revealed that there will be a new Moto Mod coming soon called the Moto Mico. As you can see from the photo above, the Moto Mico is a Moto Mod that’s basically a battery pack with solar panels attached to it. In theory this means that as long as the solar panels have access to sunlight, your phone will never run out of battery.

The report claims that the Moto Mico will feature a 2,200mAh battery and that the solar panels itself can be detached from the mod. Dubbed “Snap-Panels”, they are USB-C compatible which means that they’ll play nicely with other USB-C phones. The Moto Mico is expected to be launched on the 5th of February on Indiegogo, but at this time of writing the “Coming soon” page is already live.
