It has been rumored for a few weeks now that LG G6 is going to have support for the company’s mobile payments service called LG Pay. However, if a new report is to be believed, the company is not going to offer LG Pay on its next flagship smartphone because it has done away with the White Card process for the LG G6 entirely.

The company’s payments system is believed to be facing possible cancellation in the near future. LG Pay would have been different from other mobile payments services as it would have required a one-time password and an integrated circuit chip.

LG signed an MOU with KB Kookmin Bank in South Korea to bring this service to the masses. LG reportedly changed its development course and thus no longer has time to put LG Pay on its next flagship smartphone that due to be unveiled later this month at the Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona.

LG’s virtual card concept was actually revealed last year but it didn’t really make a proper debut. It was expected to do that with the LG G6 and take on the likes of Samsung Pay and Apple Pay but if this report is any indication, LG may be going back to the drawing board as far as its mobile payment plans are concerned.
