With the Apple Watch, the highest end model is known as the Apple Watch Edition. With the Series 1, this meant an Apple Watch with an 18-karat gold and rose gold finish, while Series 2 resulted in a ceramic Apple Watch. However according to the latest rumors, we might be able to expect an iPhone Edition as well.

According to the report from Macotakara, it seems that this year’s flagship iPhone won’t be the 4.7-inch or 5.5-inch iPhone models, but rather it could be a special iPhone called the “iPhone Edition” which apparently isn’t the much rumored 5.8-inch iPhone with an OLED display, but rather a 5-inch iPhone which we have heard about before.

However the bad news is that it might be released later than the other iPhones. The report claims that Apple has been prototyping the iPhone using various materials such as glass, ceramic, aluminum, and has also been testing it without the home button, and it also seems that Apple hasn’t decided if this particular model will sport an LCD or OLED display.

Because of this, the phone could be announced alongside the other iPhones later this year, but its release might be much later than normal. It is interesting that Apple would choose a 5-inch iPhone to be its flagship, as opposed to the 5.8-inch OLED model that has been rumored about, but since this is a rumor, take it with a grain of salt for now.
