A new job listing has been spotted on the company’s website which reveals that Spotify is working on a wearable device which is going to be a “category defining product akin to Pebble Watch, Amazon Echo, and Snap Spectacles.” Since Spotify is all about music, the product will “affect the way the world experiences music and talk content.”
While the job listing does confirm that Spotify is working on hardware, it doesn’t go into the details of what this product is going to be. Whether it’s going to be a new kind of smartwatch or a band that streams music, it’s just too soon to be sure about it at this point in time.
The listing also points out that Spotify still has a way to go before this product is ready because the person who gets hired for the job is also going to be responsible for defining the product requirements for both hardware and software.
