So for the past few years, wearable technology was all the rage, but if there is one thing we’ve started to notice it is that thanks to Amazon’s success with the Amazon Echo, we’re starting to see more companies put out similar products, and now it looks like Samsung could potentially be eyeing the market as well.

This is thanks to a recently discovered patent in which the company filed for a patent for an “Audio Device” which some have speculated could be a Bixby-powered speaker. Details about the patent are a bit scarce and given that Samsung has created speakers before, we wouldn’t be surprised if they had a new one in the works that might not be related to Bixby at all.

However assuming that they do launch a Bixby-powered speaker, it wouldn’t be surprising either. After all following the Echo’s success, we saw Google attempt their own with Google Home that’s bundled with Google Assistant. We’re also hearing rumors that Apple could be launching Siri-powered speakers at WWDC next month, not to mention there are a couple of companies who are already working on Cortana-powered speakers.

In any case it could be nothing or it could be something, but either way we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more information.
