For those looking for a service to store and backup their photos, Google Photos is a pretty good free alternative if you’re not too fussed at keeping photos at super high resolutions. Now during Google I/O earlier this year, Google announced that they will be making some changes to the way things are shared on Google Photos, and it looks like they are finally here.

Announced on Google’s blog, features like suggested sharing are now available to Google Photos users. For those who missed the announcement at I/O, “Suggested sharing uses machine learning to automatically identify photos and suggest recipients, making sharing as simple as a single tap. With shared libraries, sending and receiving photos with one person is effortless—you can automatically share your full photo library or customize just what you want to share.”

There will also be a new Shared Libraries feature that basically allows an entire library to be continuously shared, as opposed to only being able to share specific photos or albums. This means that if you a family who loves sharing photos together, Shared Libraries will allow you guys to constantly add new photos and update them whenever you want.

All these new features will begin rolling out to users this week, so if you are a Google Photos user, do keep an eye out for them. They will be available on iOS and Android devices, as well as the web version of Google Photos.
