Despite the design of Apple’s AirPods being somewhat questionable, it’s hard to deny the many positive reviews that users have had with the headphones and its features, such as how quickly it pairs with iOS devices and how “smart” it is by being able to pause music when you take them out of your ears.

In fact that headphones will be getting more features thanks to iOS 11. It seems that with the update to iOS 11, users will be able to control more of their media playback with the headphones, such as double tapping on the headphones to change tracks. Prior to this, users will have to double tap the headphones to activate Siri and then ask Siri to change tracks if they wanted a completely hands free experience.

Clearly this is far from ideal as sometimes using Siri isn’t always possible, or how sometimes Siri isn’t necessarily the best at recognizing your voice or various accents. However as you can see in the video above by Appsolutely Tech, iOS 11 will now let users change that by using double tap as a means to change tracks without using Siri.

Note that given that this is an iOS update, it means that if you want to use AirPods with a non-iOS device, then there will be certain features you’ll be missing out on, such as this.
